Goodwill Select Tours

Every year, GSA selects experienced Head and Assistant Coaches of various sports and in different areas of the country to help assemble Goodwill Select Teams to engage in international competition. Coaches who travel with GSA benefit from participating in international competition, honing their coaching skills and learning about international play, as well as having an opportunity to work with new talent.

These chosen Goodwill Select Head Coaches will work with GSA to identify potential athletes to participate as members of the Goodwill Select Teams. Through this collaborative effort, identified athletes will be invited to join a Goodwill Select Team, and the selected Head Coaches will be assigned to help lead and manage a Goodwill Select Team.

The Team Tour

GSA works closely with teams to create a customized tour that meets their specific team goals, objectives, and travel requests and is consistent with the team’s proposed budget. The ability for teams to play an integral role in creating the tour helps to ensure team satisfaction and tour success. Through customization, experience, and quality service, GSA builds long-lasting relationships with its athletes and coaches, with 99% of them traveling with GSA multiple times.

Goodwill Select Tours

In consultation and coordination with coaches and team managers, GSA designs tours that match the competitive level of its traveling teams with that of the local host team abroad. With coach and/or manager input, GSA organizes games with teams of similar ability. Therefore, athletes and coaches have a competitive game schedule, great learning experience, and enjoyable games.

GSA works with athletic associations, school boards, and tour operators globally to provide the best tours, with the best games, and at the best prices. GSA is also able to assist with the pre-trip approval process necessary with many sports organizations.

Benefits of Tours

Division I:

Taking college teams on a foreign tour to participate in international competition has become common practice among both men’s and women’s Division I sports programs. Division I teams are able to participate in a summer or in-season tour once every four years. International competition and team play provide an excellent opportunity for a new Head Coach to work with his/her team before the Fall semester begins. Additionally, such a tour elicits an extra ten days of practice and games prior to the start of a new season. Foreign tours enable teams to have an invaluable head start on obtaining competitive game experience and cultivating team unity.

Divisions II and III:

Division II and III men’s and women’s programs are also able to benefit from international competition through participating in foreign tours once every three years. Matriculated freshmen and transfer student-athletes are eligible to participate. Once again, such a tour elicits an extra ten days of practice and games prior to the start of a new season as well as an invaluable head start on obtaining competitive game experience and cultivating team unity
